In 2017, the Singapore Department of Statistics recorded that on average the duration of marriages for divorces was about 10.3 years. They also found that 1 in 3 of these divorces occurred between the 5th and 9th year mark. The marital journey to living happily ever after is constantly beset with challenges, especially during the initial years of the marriage. This workshop encompasses a marital health check-up and offers seven evidence-based principles in achieving a successful marriage.

Wishing for a happy and lasting marriage need not be a thing of the past. Finding love and meaning in a relationship is possible and it is never too late to work at it. This workshop will introduce ways for couples to work towards a more intimate and happier relationship regardless of the current level of satisfaction in their marriage. Couples will understand the biological differences between genders and learn to communicate effectively with each other.

Many parents have fond memories from participating in activities together with their children. Whether working together with their children on an art project for school, or doing a family fun run together, such precious memories are co-created to be remembered for years to come! Moreover, such activities develop parent-child bonding and builds a sense of trust, patience, and a deeper understanding of each other’s strengths. According to a study, children who have strong parental bonds tend to experience lesser emotional and behavioural problems when they reach school age (Kim and Kochanska 2012)*. A local newspaper recently reported that fathers who are actively involved in their children reap the benefits of stronger relationships with their children. Bonding is imperative to healthy relationships between parent and child and the benefits goes into adulthood.
