Workshop: A Good Night’s Sleep: Behavioural and Cognitive Strategies to Help Others Get Quality Sleep
API Care & Counselling 20 Aljunied Road, Singapore, SingaporeAccording to a mental health study conducted by IMH in 2021, 7.6% of over 1000 participants reported symptoms of insomnia amid the Covid-19 pandemic. Insomnia is a common sleep disorder in Singapore. Sleep plays an important part in a person’s sense of wellbeing. Having poor quality sleep or insufficient sleep can lead to increased risk of developing physical health conditions such as high blood pressure and heart disease, as well as mental health issues like depression and anxiety. When sleep issues persist, they can cause significant distress and disruption to a person’s life. Conversely, good quality sleep is essential to allow our body and mind to rest and recharge, so that we can be alert and function well in the day. A good night’s sleep helps to energise us and lift our mood. In this workshop, we can learn to develop tools and strategies to support someone with sleep issues and to get a good night’s sleep.
