API Care and Counselling is happy to organise this  workshop to help participants understand and manage problematic/excessive computer use in children and youth

As children and youth increasingly engage with technology, it is essential to equip ourselves with the knowledge and skills to guide and help them manage their activity in the cyber world responsibly and wisely. In this workshop, you will learn about the characteristics of problematic internet use and common online platforms and games that children use. The session focuses on practical steps for adult supervision and monitoring, drawing on real-world case studies

About the Speakers

Dr. Matthew Lim
DClinPsy, DPhil (Psychiatry), BSocSc (Hons)

Matthew has worked in inpatient and outpatient psychology services in London and Singapore
and has over five years of experience supervising clinical psychology trainees. He serves as a
lecturer in clinical psychology at a local university and has successfully published several academic
papers in international peer-reviewed journals. He is a registered practitioner psychologist and
clinical supervisor with the Singapore Psychological Society.

 

Mr. Lim Cheng Yong
MPsy (Clinical), MA (Pastoral Studies), BPsy (Hons), BSc, PGDip (Education)

Cheng Yong works as a clinical psychologist with a local hospital after serving as an educator in the
local education system for the past 30 years. In his clinical training, he worked with patients with
anxiety, depression, and those coping with grief from loss, amongst other mental health
conditions. His primary psychotherapy modalities are Cognitive Behaviour Therapy and
Acceptance and Commitment Therapy.
