SUMMARY:Workshop: ChatGPT in Education: Fostering Responsible Engagement for Children and Youth
DESCRIPTION:API Care and Counselling is happy to organise this  workshop to equip participants with the knowledge and tools needed to guide our children and youth in effectively navigating the complexities of the digital age\nIn today’s educational landscape\, an increasing number of young learners are embracing generative AI technologies\, such as ChatGPT\, to enhance their learning experiences and academic endeavours. While this technology presents significant potential for learning\, it also carries the risk of being utilized in ways that may hinder critical understanding\, and risks for potential bias\, misinformation\, and plagiarism. This workshop seeks to familiarize concerned adults with this cutting-edge technology through a lens of critical engagement. By doing so\, we aim to equip parents\, educators\, and mentors with the knowledge and tools needed to guide our children and youth in effectively navigating the complexities of the digital age. Join us in this exploration of how ChatGPT can be harnessed for responsible and enriching educational experiences. \nLEARNING OBJECTIVES \n\nThe Potential of ChatGPT to enhance learning and wellbeing\nIdentifying Risks of this new Technology\nCultivating Critical Thinking and Digital Literacy to Mitigate Risks\nNurturing Ethical and Thoughtful Engagement\n\n\n								\n								\n								\n								\n								\n								\n								\n								\n								\n								\n								\n								\n								\n								\n								\n								\n								\n								\n								\n								\nWho Should Attend\n\nParents and Guardians\nTeachers and Educators\nYouth Mentors and Coaches\nMental Health Professionals working with youth\nEducation Policy Makers and Administrators\n\nAbout the Speakers\nMr. Lim Cheng Yong\nMPsy (Clinical)\, MA (Pastoral Studies)\, BPsy (Hons)\, BSc\, PGDip (Education) \n \nCheng Yong works as a clinical psychologist with a local hospital after serving as an educator in the local education system for the past 30 years. In his clinical training\, he worked with patients with anxiety\, depression\, and those coping with grief from loss\, amongst other mental health conditions. His primary psychotherapy modalities are Cognitive Behaviour Therapy and Acceptance and Commitment Therapy. \n  \nDr. Matthew Lim\nDClinPsy\, DPhil (Psychiatry)\, BSocSc (Hons) \n \nMatthew has worked in inpatient and outpatient psychology services in London and Singapore and has over five years of experience supervising clinical psychology trainees. He serves as a lecturer in clinical psychology at a local university and has successfully published several academic papers in international peer-reviewed journals.
