SUMMARY:Workshop: Overcoming Stress: An Experiential Self-Care Workshop
DESCRIPTION:API Care and Counselling\, the community outreach arm of the Asian Pastoral Institute (API)\, is happy to organise this workshop to help you understand how to assess and cope with stress for better mental wellness.\n\nStress is a silent killer many in the 21st century are very familiar with. If it is not handled properly\, it can lead to outward anger\, inward depression\, sleep problems\, heart attack\, strokes and cancer. The COVID-19 pandemic has aggravated the situation for those already suffering from stress. Some stress can be helpful in increasing one’s drive to perform. However\, not managing overwhelming stress can be bad. Since there is no way to escape from stress in life\, it is important that we learn to cope with it. This experiential workshop will help you assess your own sources of stress\, and guide you with proven and useful self-regulation techniques. \nWHAT PARTICIPANTS SHOULD EXPECT TO LEARN\n\nLearning about the symptoms and causes of stress\nA self-assessment of current stress levels\n\nIn-session experiential exercises for relaxation\n\nWHO SHOULD ATTEND\n\nPeople wanting to cope ahead and manage stress at work\nPeople who want to better understand how to assess their own stress levels\n\nThose wanting an experiential workshop that focuses on relaxation techniques\n\nABOUT THE SPEAKER\n Lim Eng Chuan\, EdD (studies)\, MSocSc (Counselling)\, MBA\, MA (Pastoral Studies)\n  \n \nOver the last ten years\, Eng Chuan has counselled families with problems of child raising and couples with marital issues. Eng Chuan is an ACTA certified trainer who has a master’s in business administration from the University of Strathclyde\, UK. He is now an adjunct lecturer of this MBA programme.
