Fortunately\, research has increasingly shown that simple changes to daily habits can reduce the risk of developing dementia in older adults. These strategies span the spiritual\, physical\, emotional\, intellectual\, and social domains of life. \n  \nWHAT SHOULD I EXPECT TO LEARN? \n\nThe features of dementia and how it develops\nCommon medical and psychological interventions that slow its progress\nPractical strategies that healthy people can use to prevent dementia in themselves and their elderly relatives and friends\n\n  \n WHO IS THIS WORKSHOP FOR? \n\nHealthy older adults who desire to age well\nOlder adults who are concerned about minor memory problems\nAdult children concerned for their elderly parents and relatives\n\n  \nABOUT THE SPEAKER\n\nDR LEW YII JEN\, M.MED IN FAMILY MEDICINE\, MA (PASTORAL STUDIES)\nDr Lew Yii Jen is leading a cluster of several primary care centres in Singapore and has practiced medicine as a family physician for over 20 years. Dr Lew obtained his Masters of Medicine in Family Medicine from the National University of Singapore\, and is a Fellow of the College of Family Physicians Singapore.
