SUMMARY:Workshop: Strategies for Engaging Young Children and Families in Crisis
DESCRIPTION:API Care and Counselling is happy to organise this workshop for professionals who work with young children and families in crisis to understand how adversity and trauma affect the body\, mind and relationships in early childhood\nWorking with young children and families in crisis can be both challenging and deeply meaningful. This workshop will support professionals in understanding how adversity and trauma affect the body\, mind and relationships in early childhood. Through case examples and practical tools\, participants will explore ways to engage families with sensitivity\, strengthen children’s capacity for emotional regulation\, and partner with caregivers to create safe\, supportive environments. In his time as a social worker and head of a Family Service Centre\, he witnessed the impact that conflictual family relationships\, addictions\, and financial difficulties on family life. He also headed a Family Resource Centre and supported ex-offenders in their rehabilitation journeys. From 2016 to 2018\, he chaired the Family Violence Work Group in the Ang Mo Kio Region. He is a registered social worker with the Singapore Association of Social Workers. \n  \n\nMs. Eileen Boey\nMEd (Educational Leadership in Practice) (Studies)\, BA (Early Childhood Education)\n\n \nEileen is an early childhood leader with specialised training in crisis support for young children. She has taught across all age groups and advanced to training and mentoring leaders from diverse backgrounds. With more than 15 years of experience in curriculum\, quality assurance\, and trauma-informed practice\, Eileen has supported educators and families in Singapore and Southeast Asia. SUMMARY:Community Event: Walk For Health 2026
DESCRIPTION:API Care and Counselling is happy to organise this community event to supermarket vouchers for vulnerable families in our community.\nWalk-for-Health is an initiative by South-East Community Development Council (SECDC) to invite the community to promote healthier living while enabling the public to contribute to a meaningful cause. As part of the community within South-east district\, API Care and Counselling has contributed to similar initiative since 2018 by mobilizing our families\, friends\, and associates to walk or run to help vulnerable families residing in the South East District. \nWHAT IS REQUIRED FOR PARTICIPATION \nTo participate in this event\, simply register online with the required information\, confirm your participation by making payment via PayNow\, and complete the  indemnity form. \nOn event day\, ensure you are appropriately attired for the walk/run and be sufficiently hydrated prior to the commencement of the walk/run. We aspire to collectively complete a 5km route. \nWHY YOU SHOULD COME FOR THE EVENT \nWalk-for-Health 2026 is an effort by API Care and Counselling to raise supermarket vouchers for vulnerable families in our community For every 1km walked\, $1 in supermarket vouchers will be raised for senior beneficiaries in the South East district\, with a collective target of 200\,000km to support between 1\,500 and 2\,000 senior beneficiaries\, each receiving $100 worth of supermarket vouchers fully funded by corporate and individual donors. \n\n								\n								\n								\n								\n								\n								\n								\n								\n								\n								\n								\n								\n								\n								\n								\n								\n								\n								\n								\n								\nRegistration\nCLOSING DATE FOR REGISTRATION: 14 October 2026 \nPlease click HERE to Register. \nNOTE: \n\nYour place in the event will only be secured when payment is received.\nPayment needs to be received at least 2 working days before the event.\nPlease note that there will be no refunds should you be unable to attend the event.
