DESCRIPTION:API Care and Counselling\, the community outreach arm of the Asian Pastoral Institute (API)\, is happy to organise this course to help couples who are contemplating or preparing to get married or wish to strengthen their marriage foundation.\nUNIQUENESS OF THE COURSE\nWorkshops will be taught by a multidisciplinary team of professionals from the fields of counselling\, psychology and social work who are qualified in their respective fields of study. \nAll senior instructors of the course have at least 15 years of experience in helping couples prepare for marriage. \nTo increase the realism and practical usefulness of the course\, most seminars are facilitated by trainers and their spouses. SUMMARY:Community Event: Walk For Rice 2024
DESCRIPTION:API Care and Counselling is happy to organise this community event to to raise white rice\, brown rice\, and oats for vulnerable families in South-east district. This year’s target is to raise and distribute rice and oats to 7\,000 vulnerable families in the South East District where API Care and Counselling Centre is situated!\nWalk-for-Rice is an initiative by South-East Community Development Council (SECDC) and NTUC FairPrice to invite the community to raise white rice\, brown rice\, and oats for vulnerable families in South-east district. As part of the community within South-east district\, API Care and Counselling has contributed to this initiative since 2018 (with the exception of 2021 and 2022 due to Covid-19) by mobilizing our families\, friends\, and associates to walk or run to raise rice and oats. For every 300 metres of walking or running recorded\, FairPrice Foundation has committed to donate 1 bowl of white rice\, 1 bowl of brown rice and 1 bowl of oatmeal to a vulnerable family residing in South East District. This year’s target is to raise and distribute rice and oats to 7\,000 vulnerable families in the South East District where API Care and Counselling Centre is situated. \nWHAT IS REQUIRED FOR PARTICIPATION \nTo participate in this event\, simply register online with the required information\, confirm your participation by making payment via PayNow\, and complete the indemnity form. \nOn event day\, ensure you are appropriately attired for the walk/run and be sufficiently hydrated prior to the commencement of the walk/run. He is registered with the Singapore Association for Counselling as a registered counsellor\, and the Singapore Psychological Society as a registered psychologist. In addition\, he is a registered clinical supervisor with these two professional bodies. \n  \n\nMr. Lim Cheng Yong\n\nMPsy (Clinical Psychology)\n\n \nCheng Yong works as a clinical psychologist with a local hospital after serving as an educator in the local education system for the past 30 years and offering career counselling to Gen Z youth. In his clinical training\, he worked with patients with anxiety\, depression\, and those coping with grief from loss\, amongst other mental health conditions. He also headed a Family Resource Centre and supported ex-offenders in their rehabilitation journeys. From 2016 to 2018\, he chaired the Family Violence Work Group in the Ang Mo Kio Region. He is a registered social worker with the Singapore Association of Social Workers. \n  \n\nMs. Eileen Boey\nMEd (Educational Leadership in Practice) (Studies)\, BA (Early Childhood Education)\n\n \nEileen is an early childhood leader with specialised training in crisis support for young children. She has taught across all age groups and advanced to training and mentoring leaders from diverse backgrounds. With more than 15 years of experience in curriculum\, quality assurance\, and trauma-informed practice\, Eileen has supported educators and families in Singapore and Southeast Asia.
