SUMMARY:Online Workshop: Bringing Up Father\, Bringing Up Child
DESCRIPTION:API Care and Counselling\, the community outreach arm of the Asian Pastoral Institute (API)\, is proud to organise this workshop to help fathers and children to build their relationship and communication skills with each other.\n\n\nMany parents have fond memories from participating in activities together with their children. Whether working together with their children on an art project for school\, or doing a family fun run together\, such precious memories are co-created to be remembered for years to come! Moreover\, such activities develop parent-child bonding and builds a sense of trust\, patience\, and a deeper understanding of each other’s strengths. According to a study\, children who have strong parental bonds tend to experience lesser emotional and behavioural problems when they reach school age (Kim and Kochanska 2012)*.  A local newspaper recently reported that fathers who are actively involved in their children reap the benefits of stronger relationships with their children. Bonding is imperative to healthy relationships between parent and child and the benefits go into adulthood. \n*Kim\, Sanghag and Grazyna Kochanska (2012).
